Moretele River Lodge, which takes its name from the Moretele River, a tributary of the Crocodile River, is situated in Dinokeng Game Reserve, A 21 000-hectare malaria-free Big 5 Game reserve just north of Pretoria, catering for the "Adventurous" campers that require a connection with Nature.

Nestled along the enchanting Moretele River, our campsite is a haven of natural wonders and unique experiences. What sets us apart is the rare and awe-inspiring 'African finfoot' that graces the riverbanks, offering an extraordinary opportunity for birdwatching enthusiasts.



The tranquility of our site is unparalleled, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the soothing sounds of the flowing river. Positioned within a Big 5 game reserve, our campsite provides an immersive wildlife experience where animals roam freely, allowing guests to witness the magic of the untamed wilderness. Our commitment to conservation is reflected in the design of our campsites, which eschew traditional brick and mortar, minimizing our environmental footprint.

We offer TWO 4x4 Off-Grid Campsites:

Each site includes:

A quaint clearing in the riverside wilderness
Single water point (Borehole water)
NO ablution facilities (or access to)
NO electricity or lighting
Access to swimming pool at reception
You must be fully self-sufficient!!!!
NO FENCING
