With 350 days of sunshine you will enjoy the big natural swimming pool or explore some footpaths taking you onto the geological fascinating mountains to breathe the marvelous scenery of Goanikontes Oasis Rest Camp and surroundings.
Our 13 standard campsites each have their own braai, central power supply and fireplace. There are shared ablution. The sites have easy parking access and campers can either cater for themselves, or make use of our Goanikontes restaurant. Breakfast is not included.
Goanikontes Oasis is a stunning resort and camp situated in the lunar landscape of Namibia, amid the Namib Naukluft and Dorob National Parks. The natural surroundings are amazing and the rest camp is just 50 m away from the Swakopmund River. The beautiful moon landscapes strikes the oasis and even the famous Welwitchia grows close by. Take some days to spend in the sunny oasis and enjoy nature and sunshine. Accommodation is offered in comfortable bungalows, each with their own braai facility. In addition, there are twelve shady campsites, each with its own braai facilities, and toilets and showers close by. There is an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.
The highlight of the area is the fantastic otherworldly landscape. The "moon valley area" near Swakopmund is absolutely stunning and watching the sun set over the valley is an unmissable experience that will remain with you forever.
You can see for yourself why the exotic Welwitschia Mirabilis, a plant which can live to up to 2000 years old, has captured the imagination of desert explorers since the 18th century. Other accessible attractions include the Flintstone Caves and Weitzenberg Ruins.
