Lovely quiet little campsite with everything you need, clean bathrooms and hot water. A real oasis to recharge your "batteries".
Moonvalley River Camp is way off the beaten track in the middle of the Moon Valley and at the Swakop River. It is located on a 20 Ha farm that has been in the family for 70 years. It is a working farm that specialises in asparagus. They have 4 private campsites. The surrounding areas are a photographers dream, and it is the only location where you can camp in the Moon Valley. Walks through the mountains are invigorating, and they have a few valleys where the Welwitschia mirabilis grow. This is a must for any nature and desert lover. Palmenkop Campsite(Namibia Camping)
60km From "Palmenkop Campsite" is the new name for " Two Rivers Base Camp".
Palmenkop Campsite is situated on Palmenhorst Farm 60km from Swakopmund in the Dorob National Park on the Swakop River. Palmenkop Campsite has a very interesting and documented history. Access is gained via the National Swakopmund - Windhoek road, 40km from Swakop and then driving 20km down into the river. Or you can gain access from Goanikontes Oasis via the Welwitschia road into the river, when dry, and driving 10km east. There is at present a small vegetable business operating on the farm ,which supplies certain outlets in Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
Palmenkop Campsite nestles under beautiful rock formations in the moon valley, truly one of the most unique landscapes in the world. Visitors are afforded incredible views along the river valley from certain advantage points as well as stunning moon rising occurrences...
