Moreson Cottages and Campsites

Our campsites are perfectly located for a cool pleasant weekend away.
Description

Moreson - River Cottages and Campsites (previously known as River House Cottages and Campsite) is surrounded by the beautiful Slanghoek and Witzenberg Mountains in the Breedekloof wine district. The Breedekloof wine district is situated between Worcester and Paarl under the Breede River Valley Municipality and includes the Rawsonville, Slanghoek, Goudini and Breerivier areas.

The Moreson Cottages and Campsites are located at the Northern most point of the Moreson vineyards, and are therefore perfectly situated on the banks of the Breede River to maximize the soothing effect of the river, flowing within a few metres.
Whether it is the sun rising over Breedekloof Valley, or the sunset over Bainskloof Mountains, whether the weather is sunny, misty or rainy, this accommodation location has beautiful views in all directions and is picturesque all day and all year round.

This peaceful accommodation is ideal for a weekend getaway. Kids will have a fabulous time swimming in the river, hiking the mountain or mountain biking around the vineyards - there are loads of local activities to keep everyone busy. Goudini Spa is also close enough to pop in to enjoy the resorts' hot springs.

The camp site is situated on a working wine farm on the bank of the Breede River in the Slanghoek Valley. It is 20 km from Rawsonville, 30 km from Worcester and 30 km from Ceres. Two chalets are available, each with a big indoor braai/fireplace. There are 10 camp sites, each with its own ablution facilities, power point and outside light. Bring mountain bikes and canoes for great fun on the farm.

Types of accommodation:

10 campsites in 2 different areas.
We have 2 self catering cottages to choose from.

The Pump House Cottage is situated further away from the main campsite, making this cottage perfect for a quiet time away, while The Bridge Cottage, set in between the two camping areas but with its own private yard, is perfect if you want to be social or love being among fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
Both cottages have their own patio's that lead out onto the embankment of the river. The river is directly accessible from each cottage for a swim in the fresh water or to launch your kayak.

Facilities described:

We have 10 campsites (separated in 2 different areas) and all of them are along the riverbank under the shade of the trees.

Each group of campsites has their own private ablution block with hot water and night lighting, so there is no traipsing far distances in the dark.

There is a big bin with a black bag for rubbish and a big outside basin to do any dishes in.
Every site has a standard power point and a light that makes cooking so much easier!

There is a big braai and dry wood can be ordered from the owner.

On arrival you can pick up the bathroom key of the little ablution block allocated for your site. It is clean and has warm water! On your way out you can drop the key in a little post box. No mess no fuss.
