Hauchabfontein camping, home of many of the secrets and wonders of the desert with it's oasis and with it's all year round crystal clear fountain water and probably the biggest quiver tree forest in Namibia lies surrounded by the majestic Naukluft mountains in the North.
Surrounded by the mountains of the Naukluft in the south of Namibia, the Tsaris Mountains in the south and the Namib Desert with it's Sossusvlei in the west at the confluence of the Tsauchab River and the Zebra River lies our farm Hauchabfontein.
Individually secluded and private camping facilities under shadow of ebony trees and acacias with grill facilities and drinking water. Superior and clean showers with hot water and toilets.
There are numerous fountains in the riverbed of the Tsauchab as the farm's name already indicates. In the rainy season the Tsauchab River feeds the lake between the dunes of the Sossusvlei. The camping sites are located along the Tsauchab River under the shade of acacia and ebony trees.
Secluded behind mountains lies a quiver tree forest with many hundreds of quiver trees, which are unique to Namibia.
You can also go on various farm drives and game watch. There are often free roaming baboons, antelope, zebra, giraffe. Paw prints of the elusive leopard have been spotted.
The Secret Valley hiking trail is seven kilometres long and you can explore the quiver tree forest - although you have to go with a guide as it's private.
