Description
Situated only 3 kilometres outside of Montagu, this is the family getaway you have been looking for. We strive to bring together like-minded people who enjoy the outdoors. Activities include fishing, canoeing/paddle boats, hiking, 4x4, mountain biking and our very own golf course!
Just because you spend most of our time outside, does not mean you cannot stay fresh, our ablution facilities are maintained at high standards for your comfort. Almost everyone gets to enjoy having a waterfront property at Doringlaagte during their stay, as the resort surrounds a very large dam.
Doringlaagte now boasts ten self-catering chalets, all bordering our dam. The good news is you need to pack very little when you visit, as most items like bedding and towels are provided. Please browse through our website and do not hesitate to contact us if you cannot find the information you are looking for.
Doringlaagte enjoys bringing together like-minded people who still recognize the value of what the outdoors have to offer. It's all about family and with so much to do, we recommend visiting out "activities page" to plan your time with us.
• One vehicle allowed per site, unless alternative arrangements have been made with our office. • There are no portable pools allowed. • No washing machines are allowed. • Caravans that are equipped with air-conditioners pay an extra R50/day. • Shop open on the premises at certain times. • Life jackets not provided, please bring own. • Three-point plugs at power points. • Ablution facilities are not wheelchair-friendly. • Hairdryers in the ladies bathroom. • Dedicated washing up area for dishes. • Only showers are available, no baths. • "Porta potti" station available. • We do not offer a pensioners discount. • We do not offer monthly tariffs.

Facilities described:
Although every camping spot includes a "raised braai drum", please ensure you bring your own braai grid. Rubbish bins are found all over the campsite. We also suggest you bring along a long extension lead.
All Paddle boats, Canoes and Kayaks are free to use. We kindly request that kids are supervised and handle the boats with respect. We are currently not supplying life jackets, please bring your own.

Directions to site:
As you enter Montagu from Ashton, continue driving through the town cross the bridge as if you are heading to Barrydale. Take your very first left which will be "Talana Road". You should also see a sign for Doringlaagte. Travel exactly 2.8 kms and turn right into Doringlaagte.

• No Day Visitors. No dogs allowed (Arrangements can be made for Yorkies and other dogs during the week) Preferably no music played at all. No music after 10pm and played out of vehicles. No motorboats allowed, only boats with battery engines.
