Rus 'n Bietjie resort are safest place closest to the biggest part of the Vaaldam. Catch the biggest fish of your life, camp out, bring your caravan or hire our secure enclosed caravans, rondavels, boats or wooden houses.
Rus 'n Bietjie have great camping facilities with or without power along with communal bathrooms and toilets.

We have multiple camping options. You may camp out at the waterfront or park off your caravan.

Other camping options are closer to the pool and walking distance to the waterfront. These are relatively cheaper as well. Take a look at our pricing options for more. Spend time wandering the paths, admiring breathtaking views, and dipping your toes into the dam.

Later huddle around a campfire to peer up at the glowing stars. Zip your tent up for a few hours, and wake to the birds chirping and the lovely early morning sunlight. Its what camping is all about.

We have easy to access slipway facilities. You are able to launch even when waters are lower. You can also rent out our boats if you'd like for a few days on the water. The deeper you go, the bigger the fish. You can rent one of our boats if you'd like a few days on the water.

Fishing
The Vaal Dam is rich with different types of fish like Carp, Yellow Fish, Barbel / Catfish, Mudfish & Moggel.

This is one of few resorts with trees on the shore's edge with a bay in the shape of a horseshoe. In some winters when the waters are shallow, boat launching is still possible, without interfering with the fisherman and they are still able to walk to deeper waters for casting their lines.

Rent one of our various units if you not the camping type. Accommodation has also been upgraded and consists of rondavels, caravans under enclosed ports and wooden huts which can accommodate between 4 - 10 people. Each unit consist of beds,a fridge, table with chairs and own braai.

Rus n Bietjie has a newly renovated massive adult pool with a kiddies pool alongside it. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
A pub and restaurant with DSTV and pool table is available.

Daily rentals on canoes and rowboats are available. R100 per person. Deposit R100. We provide a life jacket and paddle.
