Meiringskloof Nature Park campsite is situated in the Eastern Free State, 1.7 km from Fouriesburg.

This Fouriesburg campsite is located in a beautiful kloof surrounded by sandstone cliffs with open caves, thick indigenous bush and abundant bird life. Accommodation is provided in self-catering sandstone chalets and caravan / camping facilities.

Meiringskloof offers excellent hikes in beautiful surroundings through the nature reserve and a swimming pool to cool down in. Horse riding and 4x4 trails are available in the area. The Lesotho border is only 11km away, people often stay at Meiringskloof and take a day trip to AfriSki to ski and snowboard in winter, or travel to the Katse dam high up in the mountains of Lesotho for the day.

Meiringskloof works well for family reunions or company weekends away as each family / group can stay in their own separate chalet and use the Lapa with or without kitchen for communal meals.
To preserve the natural surroundings only a few chalets and caravan/camping sites have been developed.
Accommodation at Meiringskloof Nature Park is provided in self-catering sandstone chalets as well as lovely caravan and camping facilities.
Meiringskloof Nature Park is all about superb Free State self catering accommodation.

Hikers hut

11 Self catering Chalets. Each chalet has an open plan lounge / dining room / kitchen area with a fireplace in the lounge. All are fully equipped with a 4-plate stove and oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Bedding is supplied but no towels - visitors must bring their own towels. Chalets do not have TVs or electric under-blankets. Each chalet has its own braai area with table and chairs outside. Braais are cleaned daily. Chalets are self-catering and not serviced daily, but cleaning can be arranged at extra cost.


Facilities described:


There are 14 campsites to choose from, some with grass and more sun and some with soil cover with more shade. All our campsites have a braai, electrical point and access to fresh water.

There is one large ablution facility for the campsites, it has a laundry and scullery area. Our ablution is newly renovated.
The resort has many activities to offer such as a Swimming Pool, Hiking, and fishing, Mountain biking and, 4x4 Routes, Bird Watching, Horse riding, Rock Art, Nature Drives and abseiling.

Directions to site:


Drive into town and then take any major street to the east to find Meiring street. Then drive in an north westerly direction on Meiring street. The campsite is on the end of a short piece of gravel road on Meiring street.
Fouriesburg is situated between Bethlehem, Clarens and Ficksburg.

Ry in Fouriesburg in vanaf enige kant. Ry in 'n oostelikke rigting tot by Meiring straat. Meiring straat is die mees oostelikke straat in die dorp. Draai dan in Meiring straat noordwaarts en volg die pad vir 1.7km tot by die Meiringskloof kampplek.
