Description
Skoorsteenberg Farm is situated in the Tankwa Karoo, on the slopes of the Skoorsteenberg Mountain - famous for its geological formations and bushman paintings. It is located not far from the Tankwa National Park and the infamous Afrikaburn site. The farm is also part of the Zwartbosch Nature Reserve, which has many endemic fauna and flora species such as the famous Hoodia plant. Skoorsteenberg farm has 2 fully equipped self-catering cottages sleeping 6 each and a unique campsite with amazing views. The Campsite has Ablution facilities, Braai area, swimming pool and trees for shade. Campsites can accommodate up to four tents.
Skoorsteenberg is a working farm - with animals, olive and date groves. The wildlife on the farm includes Springbok, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Ostriches and other small game. Domestic farm animals are sheep, goats, donkeys, horses, chickens and geese.
This is a countryside of stark beauty - with an unusual sense of place.

Facilities described:
We have two self-catering farm style cottages which sleep 6 people each. They are fully equipped with bedding, towels, kitchen and braai facilities. Bring only your food and personal belongings. The farm and cottages are powered by solar and wind power. The water is bore-hole water and is suitable for drinking.
We have a newly renovated Campsite area with Ablution facilities, Braai area, swimming pool and trees for shade.

No connectivity, Magnificent stargazing, Wonderful sunsets, A natural silence.

Please contact us for directions and the code for the lock on the gate. Remember to fill up with fuel in Worcester or Ceres as there is no fuel along this route until you get back to Worcester or Ceres.
There is no mobile phone coverage after you get onto the gravel road off the R46. The land line number at the farm house is 023 004 0264 . We suggest you call this number before you get off the tar road so we can estimate when to expect you.
The gravel road is known for "eating" tyres - so please make sure you have a spare tyre and the right tools.
