If you are looking for a peaceful weekend away with family and friends, Rivierplaas Campsite is where you'll find it. Situated on the banks of the Breede River, we are only an hour and a half drive from Cape Town, nestled in the area of Scherpenheuwel, south of Worcester.

Rivierplaas is a working farm situated on the banks of the Breede River about 25km south of Worcester and only an hour and a half's drive from Cape Town. We choose to "rough it" with NO ELECTRICITY. NO music allowed!! Pet-owners would be glad to learn that we are a pet-friendly campsite. We welcome any kind of tents, caravans, bush trailer or motor-homes. This is still one of the few places where kids can enjoy themselves in a safe, family friendly, outdoor environment. Other features include the relatively deep swimming area, foefie slide (flying fox) into the river, cozy camp fires with braai facilities & hot water showers.

We offer big stretched out lawns and a child-friendly play areas. What strikes you most is the peace and quietness. NO music is allowed!

There are also inner tubes, canoes and rafts available for all to use. Nature lovers and bird watchers will love it here and will enjoy the 2.5km hiking trail. We also have beautiful spots available for the ardent angler.

We welcome any kind of tent, bush-trailer, motor-home or caravan. No regrets, no electricity. For your convenience, we stock some basic camping necessities like ice, wood, Blitz, Tabard, Coke and bottled water, as well as in season farm produce and honey.

PET POLICY: Only friendly pets that get on well with other animals and people, especially children, are allowed. Loud and annoying pets will not be allowed. Clean up after your own pet!! Easy access to walks. Please consider other campers and their pets, and always remember that Rivierplaas is a working farm with farm animals and dogs roaming. Consideration must also be given to resident dogs, farm animals & wildlife.

Directions to site:

Take the R43 from Worcester to Villiersdorp. 11.7km From the Aan De Doorns Rd / R43 T-junction turn left onto the Doornrivier road. Drive for 450m from Doornrivier / R43 junction and turn left again. Drive for 5km and turn left at the entrance. You have arrived at the Rivierplaas farm. They will direct you to the campsite.
